Hillary Clinton made a surprise appearance at the America in One Room/Pennsylvania event in Philadelphia on Sunday, using a wide-ranging Q&A to express concerns over the United States’ global leadership, Donald Trump administration policies, and foreign threats.

“I think we still are [a superpower], but I’m not sure we will remain,” Clinton said. “We are giving away our power in ways that are damaging to our leadership.”

Without naming Trump directly, she criticized the administration’s foreign policy vision, warning that ceding global influence to rivals like Russia or China would lead to a less safe world. She also took aim at Trump’s tariff policy, saying, “We are crippling our economy,” and citing empty ports in Long Beach as early evidence.

Clinton called for a firm deterrent stance against China invading Taiwan and said slashing U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) programs through the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) undermines diplomacy.

On Ukraine, she backed continued support to prevent aggression from being rewarded. She also emphasized the rising threat of cyberattacks, arguing the U.S. must build capacity to deter hostile actors.

Clinton’s remarks came on the final day of the multi-day event, which also featured Gov. Josh Shapiro and other Pennsylvania leaders.
