MINNEAPOLIS, MN — Federal authorities have secured indictments against two individuals accused of assaulting a reporter during an anti-ICE protest outside a federal building earlier this month.
The incident occurred April 11 near the Whipple Federal Building, which houses a regional ICE office and has been a focal point for demonstrations tied to ongoing immigration enforcement actions. Video from the scene shows the reporter being pushed multiple times as tensions escalated among protesters.
According to reporting, the indictment was handed down by a federal grand jury and is expected to be formally unsealed. Officials have not yet released the names of the suspects or the specific charges.
Footage from the protest shows a crowd shouting and using whistles before the situation turned physical. At one point, the reporter is heard telling demonstrators to step back before being knocked to the ground. Bystanders attempted to intervene and calm the situation.
Local authorities had previously indicated that multiple individuals could face charges, and the case remained under review before the federal action.
