A federal judge has agreed to impose a “narrow” gag order on former President Donald Trump, restricting him from making disparaging comments about witnesses involved in his Jan. 6 case. The decision comes after lawyers for Trump and the Justice Department requested the gag order to prevent what they termed as “disparaging and inflammatory” remarks that could potentially taint the jury pool and intimidate witnesses. The judge overseeing the case, U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan, made the ruling ahead of a hearing scheduled for Monday.

The gag order is specific to comments about witnesses, lawyers, and others involved in the Jan. 6 case. It does not extend to other aspects of the case or other individuals.
