Allen Weisselberg, former CFO of the Trump Organization, was sentenced to five months in jail for perjury about Donald Trump’s finances. This marks his second imprisonment, following a three-month sentence in 2023 for participating in a 15-year tax fraud scheme at the Trump Organization. The perjury charges arose from Weisselberg’s testimony in a civil fraud case brought by New York state Attorney General Letitia James against Trump and other executives for manipulating property values.
Weisselberg falsely claimed he was not involved in the incorrect valuation of Trump’s Manhattan townhouse. He also admitted to lying about his role in Trump’s financial statements during two earlier depositions. Trump is set to go on trial for covering up hush money paid to Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election.
