Ukraine is pursuing major agreements with the United States and Europe as part of its push for post-war security guarantees. According to the Financial Times, Kyiv is prepared to buy $100 billion in U.S. weapons financed by Europe, while also negotiating a $50 billion joint drone production deal with American companies.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said after meetings in Washington with Donald Trump and European leaders that details of the security package could be finalized within 10 days. “There indeed is a package with our proposals worth $90bn,” he confirmed, adding that the U.S. would buy Ukrainian drones once exports open.

Trump announced that the U.S. would coordinate European guarantees and said he had initiated plans for a meeting between Zelenskyy and Vladimir Putin. German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Trump and Putin had agreed in principle to talks within two weeks. France’s Emmanuel Macron said Europe would support negotiations but warned sanctions could be increased if Moscow resists.

Meanwhile, Russian strikes killed at least 10 civilians in Ukrainian cities, including Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia, as drone and missile attacks intensified. Ukraine retaliated by hitting an oil pumping station in Russia’s Tambov region, disrupting supplies through the Druzhba pipeline.
