Former President Donald Trump’s campaign contributions exceeded those of President Joe Biden in April, marking the first such instance this election year. Despite Trump’s ongoing trial in New York, his joint efforts with the Republican National Committee amassed $76 million, significantly outstripping Biden’s $51 million.
The fundraising surge for Trump is attributed to a high-profile event at billionaire John Paulson’s Palm Beach residence, which alone generated $50.5 million. Conversely, Biden’s campaign maintains a $35 million cash-on-hand lead, bolstered by a record-breaking $25 million fundraiser at Radio City Music Hall, featuring former Presidents Clinton and Obama.
