President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday to “protect the religious freedoms of Americans and end the anti-Christian weaponization of government.” Announcing the policy at the National Prayer Breakfast, Trump vowed to safeguard Christian rights in schools, the military, workplaces, and public spaces.
The order appoints Attorney General Pam Bondi to lead a task force targeting “anti-Christian bias” in the federal government. “My administration will ensure that any unlawful and improper conduct, policies, or practices that target Christians are identified, terminated, and rectified,” the order states.
Additionally, Trump signed an order imposing sanctions on the International Criminal Court (ICC) over its 2024 arrest warrants for Israeli leaders, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The order freezes the assets of named ICC officials and bars them from entering the U.S. The administration condemned the ICC’s actions, calling them a “dangerous precedent” that undermines U.S. and Israeli sovereignty.
