Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday, President Donald Trump sharply criticized world leaders, targeting European immigration and energy policies while promoting U.S. oil and gas. His remarks came just days after key U.S. allies recognized a Palestinian state and as NATO pledged to counter Russian air incursions.
“Your countries are going to hell,” Trump told delegates, warning that reliance on “green energy” and mass immigration would doom Europe. He dismissed international climate agreements as “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.”
The president also clashed with the U.N., joking about a “bad escalator” and a malfunctioning teleprompter. He claimed to have ended “seven wars” without the body’s support.
Trump met separately with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, expressing “great respect” for Ukraine’s fight against Russia. On Gaza, he demanded Hamas release hostages but denounced recognition of a Palestinian state as rewarding terrorism.
He touted his domestic policies, including mass deportations and global tariffs, and defended U.S. military strikes on suspected drug-smuggling boats near Venezuela.
