Former President Donald Trump has repeatedly denied any connection to the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, an ultra-conservative playbook aimed at overhauling the executive branch. However, a report by The Washington Post revealed that Trump took a 45-minute private flight with Heritage Foundation President Kevin Roberts in April 2022.

Despite Trump’s claims in July that he has “no idea who is in charge” of Project 2025, a photo obtained by The Washington Post shows Trump and Roberts together on the flight. The two were en route to a Heritage Foundation conference where Trump delivered a keynote speech hinting at the project.

At the time, Project 2025 was still in development, and while Roberts reportedly raised the topic with Trump during the flight, sources say the former president appeared uninterested. The Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, is behind the 922-page Project 2025 playbook, which outlines extreme conservative policies for a potential Trump administration in 2024.

Trump has distanced himself from the project, labeling its backers as part of the “radical right” during a July rally.
