Selzer’s survey, published days before the election, showed Vice President Harris leading Trump in Iowa, though Trump won the state by over 20,000 votes. Selzer, a pollster for the Register since 1997, announced her retirement, noting the irony of polling not aligning with election results. She disclosed her decision to retire over a year ago.
