Former President Trump criticized Fox News on Thursday after a poll showed him trailing President Biden nationally for the first time this year. The Fox News poll indicated 50% support for Biden and 48% for Trump, a 3-point gain for Biden compared to the previous month.
Trump called the poll “TRASH” in a Truth Social post, accusing Fox News of using a biased sample favoring Biden voters. He claimed, “I am leading BIG in virtually every other poll, including in all of the key battleground states.” Trump also criticized Fox News’ polling methods and called for the network to replace its pollster.
The poll marks Biden’s first time reaching 50% support this election cycle and his first lead in a Fox poll since October. With third-party candidates included, Biden leads by 1 point. Independents Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West garnered 10% and 2% support, respectively, while Green Party candidate Jill Stein also received 2%.
Independent voters now favor Biden by 9 points, a significant shift from May when Trump led by 2 points. Republican pollster Daron Shaw noted Biden’s slight gains with women and seniors, offsetting his reduced support from younger voters and African Americans.
An Emerson College/The Hill poll showed Trump leading Biden in key swing states, including Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
