Washington, D.C. — President Donald Trump claimed Sunday that he has made “Hundreds of Billions of Dollars” through stocks and other holdings for the benefit of the United States rather than himself.

“I do this for our Country, not myself,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, adding that he had made the money “on Stocks, and many other type Holdings, for the U.S.A.” He did not provide documentation showing that his personal investment gains had produced hundreds of billions of dollars for the federal government.

Trump accompanied the post with an AI-generated image depicting himself trading stocks from the White House, including a screen showing Intel shares rising sharply.

The Intel reference drew attention because Trump’s investment accounts have purchased shares in several major companies while his administration has taken actions affecting those firms. The White House and Trump Organization have said his securities accounts are independently managed by third-party institutions and that Trump does not direct individual trades.

Trump’s certified annual financial disclosure, released by the U.S. Office of Government Ethics in June, details extensive business interests and investment activity. Mediaite reported that the disclosure showed at least $2.2 billion in income during 2025, largely from cryptocurrency and real estate ventures.

The president’s “hundreds of billions” claim is substantially larger than the income documented in his latest public disclosure, and his post did not explain how he calculated the figure.
