The Trump administration rescinded its federal grant freeze on Wednesday, a day after U.S. District Judge Loren L. AliKhan temporarily blocked the order just before it was set to take effect.

Acting Office of Management and Budget Director Matthew Vaeth stated that all federal spending must align with Trump’s executive orders, which aim to reverse progressive policies on transgender rights, environmental justice, and diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives.

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer criticized Trump’s attempt to freeze funding, accusing him of causing chaos. The freeze was initially challenged in court by nonprofit groups that rely on federal grants.
