Four senior staff members of Mark Robinson’s campaign for North Carolina governor resigned just weeks before the election. General consultant Conrad Pogorzelski III, campaign manager Chris Rodriguez, finance director Heather Whillier, and deputy campaign manager Jason Rizk stepped down days after Robinson denied making explicit posts on a pornographic website. Despite the turmoil, Robinson, the state’s lieutenant governor, remains in the race, expressing confidence in undecided voters.

Polling shows Robinson trailing Democrat Josh Stein by a significant margin, with Republican insiders doubting his chances. Recent controversies, including reports of offensive online activity and a registered account on Ashley Madison, have further damaged his campaign. Robinson denied these allegations but has canceled campaign events since Thursday. While Stein’s campaign has secured $13 million for ads, Robinson’s funding has largely dried up. Former President Trump, who endorsed Robinson, did not mention him during a recent rally in North Carolina.
