Before shots rang out at Donald Trump’s Pennsylvania rally, police reported a suspicious man near the magnetometers. Witnesses pointed to an armed man on a nearby roof. Local law enforcement assisted the Secret Service and Pennsylvania State Police. Reports indicated Crooks acted suspiciously near the magnetometers. The officer who encountered Crooks fell and injured his ankle after the gunman pointed his rifle.
The FBI is treating the attack as potential domestic terrorism but has not identified a motive. The rifle used was likely purchased by Crooks’ father. The attack occurred from a distance within the range of a skilled marksman.
