The Senate passed a six-measure spending package on Friday night, which is now headed to President Joe Biden for his signature. This legislative move clears half of the annual funding measures, concluding months of partisan debate. The package provides funding for over a dozen federal departments and independent agencies until the start of the new fiscal year on October 1, thus narrowly avoiding a partial government shutdown that was set to begin Saturday morning.
