Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) cautioned voters that former President Donald Trump may prematurely declare victory in the upcoming election, regardless of official results. In a CNN interview, Sanders stressed, “It’s not ‘what if’… he will,” emphasizing that voters should be prepared for Trump to falsely assert he won “and the only way [they] could possibly lose is if there’s voter fraud.”
Last week, Trump began casting doubt on Pennsylvania’s election integrity, claiming the state was “cheating” and urging supporters to report alleged fraud. At a Pennsylvania rally, he inaccurately cited 2,600 questionable voter registration forms in Lancaster County, though local officials clarified there was no evidence of broader fraud or fraudulent ballots.
Concerns over misinformation and allegations of fraud echo the disputed 2020 election, with polls showing a tight race, as Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are tied at 48.4% support nationally.
