Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) has announced plans to introduce legislation directing the Bureau of Engraving and Printing to create a new $250 bill featuring President Donald Trump. If approved, it would mark the first time a living former or current president has appeared on U.S. currency.

Wilson justified the proposal by citing “Bidenflation,” claiming that rising costs under President Joe Biden have forced Americans to carry more cash. “Most valuable bill for most valuable president!” he posted on social media.

Inflation peaked at 9.1% in 2022, though it has since declined to 3% in 2025. Still, economic concerns persist, with some analysts warning that Trump’s proposed tariffs could drive prices higher.

The bill has not yet been formally introduced in Congress, and no timeline for its advancement has been set. If passed, the $250 bill would become the highest-value legal tender in the U.S. Currently, the highest denomination in circulation is the $100 bill.
