U.S. Representative Adam Schiff, a Democrat who led the impeachment case against former President Donald Trump and served on a committee that investigated the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, announced his intention to run for the U.S. Senate on Thursday.
Schiff joined other California Democrats in their bid to unseat Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein. This month, U.S. Representative Katie Porter launched her Senate campaign. According to the Washington Post, Representative Barbara Lee also plans to run for the seat.
