WASHINGTON, DC — A multiday protest campaign called “Remove the Regime” is set to begin in the nation’s capital this week, with organizers calling for President Donald Trump’s impeachment and removal from office. The effort comes during what activists describe as a historic spike in nationwide demonstrations, including last month’s “No Kings” protests that drew millions during the record-breaking government shutdown.

Beginning Thursday, organizers plan a rally followed by what they characterize as an unprecedented direct-lobbying push urging lawmakers to pursue impeachment. Rep. Al Green of Texas is expected to join a march toward Congress, though his office did not respond to Axios regarding his participation.

Events continue Friday with lobbying trainings, a veterans’ gathering, and a political comedy night. The main rally will take place Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial, featuring performances by the Dropkick Murphys and Earth to Eve. A ticketed fundraiser later that evening will include music from several additional groups.

Organizers say the tone will be energetic but purposeful, emphasizing that the goal is to mobilize crowds “too big to ignore.” However, they did not provide estimates for expected turnout.

The White House dismissed the demonstrations, with spokesperson Liz Huston calling them “left-wing dark money-funded” and arguing they cannot reverse Trump’s election. The Removal Coalition, which includes nearly two dozen organizations, says its goal is to build sustained pressure for impeachment.
