A YouGov poll found that 52% of Americans believe President Donald Trump will attempt to serve a third term, despite the constitutional limit barring presidents from serving more than two terms.
When asked if Trump would “attempt to serve a third term”, 21% of respondents said “definitely”, while 31% said “probably”. Meanwhile, 16% said it is “probably not” going to happen, and 18% believe it is “definitely not” in his plans.
Trump hinted at the idea last week at a Black History Month event, asking the audience, “Should I run again? You tell me.” He also sparked speculation by posting “LONG LIVE THE KING!” on Truth Social after announcing a policy change on New York’s congestion pricing plan.
Rep. Andy Ogles (R-Tenn.) has even proposed a constitutional amendment to allow Trump to run for a third term, arguing that the country needs “bold leadership.”
The poll surveyed 2,900 people on Feb. 25, though YouGov has not disclosed the margin of error.

Trump made it abundantly clear during his 2024 campaign that if Americans voted for Trump in 2024, they would never have to do so ever again. The reason for this is very simple: Trump cannot run again due to the constitutional amendment.
