WASHINGTON, D.C.Elon Musk is reviving America PAC for a major Republican turnout operation ahead of the 2026 midterm elections, giving the GOP another enormous financial advantage as it fights to retain narrow congressional majorities.

The super PAC plans to focus on door-to-door canvassing, digital advertising and direct mail aimed at conservative voters who frequently skip nonpresidential elections. Political adviser Chris Young will oversee the effort, according to Axios, which first reported the plans.

America PAC says its 2024 operation knocked on more than 10 million doors while supporting President Donald Trump. Musk spent more than $260 million during that election cycle, making him the country’s largest individual political donor.

The renewed spending follows a public falling-out between Musk and Trump over federal spending and Musk’s brief leadership of the Department of Government Efficiency. Their relationship has since improved, and Musk has resumed financially supporting Republican candidates and political organizations.

Republicans already hold a substantial fundraising advantage over Democrats, with hundreds of millions available through party committees and Trump-aligned groups. Musk’s return further demonstrates how a single billionaire can exert extraordinary influence over national elections.

The investment comes as Republicans face voter dissatisfaction over the economy, the Iran war and Trump’s declining approval ratings.
