The Anglican Catholic Church revoked Michigan priest Calvin Robinson’s license after he mimicked a gesture made by Elon Musk that some critics compared to a Nazi salute. Robinson, who attended the National Pro-Life Summit on Jan. 25, imitated Musk’s cross-body motion from a speech following Trump’s inauguration.

The church stated that Robinson had been warned against “online trolling” and that his actions were “harmful, divisive, and contrary to Christian charity.” They condemned “Nazi ideology and anti-Semitism in all its forms.”

Robinson defended himself, arguing he was mocking critics who accused Musk of being a Nazi. He said, “Context is key, but people see what they want to see.”

Musk denied any Nazi association, with support from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Anti-Defamation League. However, Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) condemned the gesture.
