WASHINGTON, D.C. — First lady Melania Trump publicly denied any connection to Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, responding to reports about a past email exchange and calling the allegations false.
Speaking from the White House, Trump said claims linking her to Epstein were “lies” and criticized those spreading them as acting without “ethical standards.” She stated she was never friends with Epstein and had no involvement in his activities, emphasizing that any contact with Maxwell amounted to a brief, non-substantive exchange.
Trump acknowledged that she and her husband, President Donald Trump, moved in similar social circles as Epstein in New York and Palm Beach but rejected claims that Epstein introduced the couple. She also said she never visited Epstein’s private island or flew on his plane.
In her remarks, the first lady called on Congress to allow testimony from Epstein victims and to formally include their accounts in the public record. She stressed that hearings should focus on survivors.
The statement comes as scrutiny surrounding Epstein’s network continues, with renewed attention on individuals previously connected to him socially or professionally.
