New polls show President Trump facing declining approval after his first 100 days in office.

A NPR/PBS News/Marist poll found 45% of Americans give Trump an “F” grade for his early performance, compared to 23% awarding him an “A.” His approval rating sits at 42%, the second-lowest for any president at this point in modern history. Independents in particular have soured, with only 36% approving.

An American Values Survey by PRRI similarly found that 52% of Americans view Trump as a “dangerous dictator” whose power must be limited. Majorities of Black, Latino, and Asian Americans — and 56% of independents — agreed with that statement.

Trump’s handling of the economy, immigration, and tariffs were among the leading concerns, with 60% saying current economic conditions are his responsibility.

While 81% of Republicans continue to back him, dissatisfaction among independents signals trouble ahead for Trump’s broader appeal.

It’s taken way too long for the polls to resemble how I feel about Trump.
