Kyiv, Ukraine – Laura Loomer, a prominent supporter of President Donald Trump, met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv on Thursday following a public shift in her stance regarding American assistance to Ukraine.

Loomer visited Kyiv and conducted an interview with Zelenskyy for her online program, ‘Loomer Unleashed.’ She stated that experiencing an air-raid warning during her visit influenced her perspective on the risks faced by Ukrainian civilians.

“I often said I don’t care,” Loomer wrote on X. “Looking back, that wasn’t very nice of me to say.” She later called for “moral clarity” about Russia’s invasion.

These remarks differ significantly from Loomer’s previous statements, in which she questioned the extent of Russian aggression, criticized U.S. military assistance to Ukraine, and echoed claims from Russian officials regarding the Ukrainian government. In the past, Loomer also made critical remarks about Zelenskyy.

During their interview, Zelenskyy said his relationship with Trump improved following a brief meeting at the Vatican, describing the conversation as a turning point.

Loomer also visited Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a historic monastery that sustained damage during a recent attack attributed to Russian forces. She questioned President Vladimir Putin’s portrayal of Russia as a defender of Christianity in light of strikes on Ukrainian religious sites.

According to Ukrainian officials, Loomer’s visit was not organized by any government institution, and her presence in the country was first noted through social media.
