Meadows argued for immunity under the U.S. Constitution’s supremacy clause, but prosecutors said his efforts, including involvement in submitting fake electors, fell outside his role.
Meadows had tried a similar strategy last year in Georgia but was also unsuccessful. His attorneys are seeking dismissal of the Arizona charges, which include forgery and conspiracy. Meadows has pleaded not guilty.
