Former National Security Adviser John Bolton criticized former President Donald Trump on Thursday, asserting that Trump struggles to differentiate between fact and fiction. During an appearance on CNN’s “The Source with Kaitlan Collins,” Bolton remarked, “Trump can’t tell the difference between what’s true and what’s false.” He added that Trump’s inability to distinguish reality from falsehoods is not a matter of lying but rather an inherent disconnect from reality.

Bolton’s comments came in response to Trump’s recent press conference, where the former president addressed various topics, including Vice President Kamala Harris and his 2024 election strategies. Trump claimed that during the 2016 campaign, he was protective of Hillary Clinton and discouraged his supporters from chanting “Lock her up,” despite having led such chants himself.

Bolton also criticized Trump’s claim that it might be “unconstitutional” for Harris to be the Democratic nominee without a primary challenge. He argued that this reflects Trump’s lack of understanding of American history and speculated that Trump could be laying the groundwork to challenge the election results if he loses in 2024, much like his actions in 2020.
