Colorado legal officials approved an agreement on Tuesday barring Jenna Ellis, a former attorney for Donald Trump, from practicing law in the state for three years. This decision follows Ellis’s guilty plea to aiding Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election.

Ellis, in a tearful plea in Fulton County, Georgia, in October, admitted to felony charges of aiding and abetting false statements. She was among 18 co-defendants charged in connection with Trump’s campaign to reverse Joe Biden’s victory in Georgia.

Previously censured in Colorado for false statements about the 2020 election, Ellis had claimed the election was “stolen” from Trump. These falsehoods contributed to the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack.

Colorado authorities pursued the case after Ellis’s Georgia plea, highlighting that her actions undermined public confidence in the election process and caused significant harm. The charges noted that Ellis acted as an accessory rather than a principal.

A Colorado native residing in Florida, Ellis could not be reached for comment. She joins a growing list of individuals disciplined for attempting to overturn Trump’s 2020 election defeat.
