JERUSALEM — The Israeli government and The Jerusalem Post have corrected a false report that Erika Kirk, widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, would accept a posthumous award on his behalf during the 2025 Christian Media Summit. The award was to honor Kirk’s support for Israel at the annual event, which hosts about 150 Christian media executives and public opinion leaders to strengthen ties between Christians and the State of Israel.
Earlier, the Israeli Government Press Office told The Jerusalem Post that Erika Kirk would appear via video chat to accept the award. The claim was amplified by the X account “Israel War Room,” but Turning Point USA spokesperson Andrew Kolvet quickly denied the report.
“This is the first we’re hearing of this!” Kolvet wrote on X, later adding that Erika “will not be attending.” The Jerusalem Post subsequently updated its article to remove the incorrect information.
Charlie Kirk had been an outspoken supporter of Israel, but following his assassination earlier this year, conspiracy theories falsely alleging Israeli involvement have circulated online.
