Tehran, Iran — Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Saturday that Iran is facing what he described as a “full-scale war” with the United States, Israel, and Europe, framing recent military strikes and economic pressure as a coordinated effort to destabilize the country. His comments follow U.S.- and Israel-led attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities earlier this year and come amid heightened regional tensions.

In remarks published on the website of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Pezeshkian said Western powers are applying pressure on Iran “from every aspect,” including trade restrictions, financial isolation, and security threats. He argued that sanctions and military actions have strained daily life while increasing public expectations on the government to deliver stability and economic relief.

According to the Associated Press, roughly 1,100 Iranians — including senior military officials and nuclear scientists — were killed during a 12-day air campaign in June. Iranian leaders have since hardened their rhetoric, portraying the conflict as existential and calling for national unity. Tehran continues to insist its nuclear program is peaceful, while Washington and its allies argue enrichment activities pose a proliferation risk.

President Donald Trump has reiterated his pledge to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon and is scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the coming days. Analysts say Pezeshkian’s remarks reflect both internal political pressure and Iran’s effort to signal resolve internationally, as diplomatic channels remain limited and the risk of further escalation persists.
