Tehran, Iran — Iran’s supreme leader accused President Donald Trump of violating a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, saying the breaches showed Trump’s signature was “utterly worthless and devoid of credibility.”
Reuters reported that Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei issued the warning Saturday, saying Iran and the “front of resistance” had “unforgettable lessons” to teach the United States if attacks continue. The statement came as U.S. strikes and Iranian retaliation have deepened fears of a prolonged conflict.
The warning followed the appearance of anti-Trump billboards in Tehran. Reuters Connect described one poster in Palestine Square showing Trump over a coffin draped in an American flag with the Persian phrase “Blood for blood.” Other regional outlets reported a separate billboard showing Trump family members above flag-draped coffins.
The Guardian reported that the U.S. military has carried out repeated strikes on Iranian targets, while Iran-backed forces have attacked U.S. allies and personnel in the region.
Trump has previously warned that any Iranian-backed attempt to assassinate him would trigger a severe U.S. response. For now, both sides continue trading threats as diplomatic openings appear limited.
