An Iranian-linked cyber group that previously hacked President Trump’s 2024 campaign is now threatening to release 100 GB of stolen emails from top associates, including White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, Roger Stone, and Trump lawyer Lindsey Halligan, Reuters reported Monday.
The threat coincides with a warning from the Trump administration that “Iranian Cyber Actors” may target U.S. infrastructure and private firms. CISA dismissed the hackers’ claims as part of a “calculated smear campaign” and “digital propaganda” aimed at discrediting Trump and key aides.
The hacker group, using the alias “Robert,” also claimed possession of emails involving Stormy Daniels and hinted at selling the data. The Justice Department previously indicted three Iranians in the 2024 cyberattack, linking the operation to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
The renewed threats follow Trump’s decision to halt potential sanctions relief for Iran after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei downplayed damage from recent U.S.-Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites.
