The Democratic National Committee has taken steps to remove David Hogg from his position as Vice Chair At-Large, citing procedural issues in the February election. Hogg, however, contends the move is politically motivated due to his pledge to challenge incumbent Democrats through his PAC, Leaders We Deserve.

On Monday, the DNC Credentials Committee voted 13-2 to void the February elections of Hogg and Pennsylvania Rep. Malcolm Kenyatta. The dispute stems from claims by Kalyn Free, a defeated candidate, who alleged the process was flawed and discriminatory.

Hogg, 25, has stirred controversy by advocating for primary challenges to older, less effective Democratic members. “Too many leaders in the Democratic Party are asleep at the wheel,” he said. “The DNC has pledged to remove me.”

DNC Chair Ken Martin cited procedural errors, not political motives, and said the matter would be resolved fairly by DNC members.

Meanwhile, pro-Trump influencer Alex Bruesewitz called the move a “coup,” claiming Hogg has unintentionally boosted MAGA support.
