During a CNN town hall, Vice President Kamala Harris agreed that former President Donald Trump could be considered a “fascist,” though she avoided directly labeling him as such. When asked by Anderson Cooper whether she believed Trump was a fascist, Harris responded, “Yes, I do.” However, when discussing Trump’s handling of issues like the Middle East conflict and democracy, she refrained from explicitly using the term, instead calling him “dangerous” and a threat to America’s security.
Harris highlighted support from prominent Republican figures like Dick Cheney and Liz Cheney, noting their endorsement stems from concerns over Trump’s potential return to power, particularly fears that he may not uphold his oath to the Constitution.
These remarks follow former White House chief of staff John Kelly’s recent comments in The New York Times, where he suggested Trump fits the definition of a fascist. Harris echoed Kelly’s sentiments, urging Americans to question why a former Trump ally would issue such a warning just before the election.
