The FBI announced Friday that it is launching a probe into a surge of swatting incidents targeting conservative media figures, following multiple false emergency calls that triggered law enforcement responses.
FBI Director Kash Patel condemned the attacks, stating, “Weaponizing law enforcement against ANY American is morally reprehensible and endangers lives.”
Victims include Joe Pagliarulo (The Joe Pags Show), Shawn Farash (UNGOVERNED), and Nick Sortor, who all reported SWAT teams arriving at their homes after false hostage or violence claims.
- Pagliarulo said police surrounded his home at 2 a.m., responding to a false report of him holding hostages and shooting dogs.
- Sortor described the swatting attempt on his family as “attempted murder”, saying his father and sister’s homes were raided after a caller falsely claimed his father was killing their family.
The FBI vowed to collaborate with local law enforcement and hold those responsible accountable.
