FBI Director Kash Patel told lawmakers Wednesday he has never discussed the Jeffrey Epstein files with President Trump, as Democrats pressed him to release more records tied to the late financier.

During testimony before Congress, Patel said recent court orders prevent the bureau from disclosing all Epstein-related materials. Responding to Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.), Patel stated Trump “was never an FBI informant in the Epstein case.” He also told Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) he did not know how many times Trump’s name appeared in the files, but clarified there were no photos of Trump with underage girls.

On Tuesday, Patel testified that investigators found “no credible information” that Epstein trafficked minors to others, adding to disputes over the scope of evidence in federal custody. Earlier this month, House Democrats released a 2003 birthday book entry allegedly written by Trump for Epstein, including a lewd sketch.
