Washington, D.C. — A New York Times analysis of newly released Jeffrey Epstein records found that President Donald Trump is referenced thousands of times across documents made public by the Department of Justice, underscoring the extent of his appearance in materials tied to the disgraced financier, though not establishing criminal conduct.
According to the Times, reporters used a proprietary search tool to review the latest tranche of Epstein-related emails, government files, videos, and records. The review identified more than 38,000 references to Trump-related names and terms, including Trump himself, his wife, and his Mar-a-Lago resort. Of those, more than 5,300 documents specifically mention Trump. Previous releases late last year included an additional 130 Trump-related files.
The Times reported that some of the references involve unverified tips submitted to the FBI’s National Threat Operations Center, including allegations naming both Epstein and Trump. FBI officials compiled summaries of those tips last summer, which were included in the newly released records. The newspaper noted that the tips were not independently verified.
Other documents include interview notes from 2019 recounting a victim’s claim of being transported to Mar-a-Lago to meet Trump. The notes do not allege misconduct by Trump. Additional records reaffirm previously reported details about Trump’s past social relationship with Epstein, which Trump has said ended in the early 2000s.
Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche told CNN that the Justice Department reviewed the allegations but found no credible evidence warranting further investigation. Trump has said the documents “absolve” him of wrongdoing.
