WASHINGTON, D.C. — House Democrats on Thursday released another batch of emails connected to Jeffrey Epstein, adding to the 23,000 messages disclosed the previous day. Lawmakers say the newly shared communications further illustrate a relationship between Epstein and President Donald Trump and show Epstein referencing Trump’s activities during the transition period and early months of his administration.
Democrats highlighted several exchanges in which Epstein appeared aware of Trump’s whereabouts and developments inside the White House. In one 2018 message, Epstein suggested he should contact Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to offer insights about the president. Other emails criticize Trump’s alleged attention to young women and speculate about potential early-onset dementia.
The president has repeatedly denied any knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activity and has dismissed attempts to link him to Epstein’s trafficking network. Trump responded to the release by calling it a political ploy, urging Republicans not to engage. “Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap,” he wrote on Truth Social, calling the disclosures a distraction from the recent shutdown.
The two men were publicly friendly in the 1990s, though Trump has said he cut ties with Epstein long before his 2019 arrest. Democrats say the emails raise new questions about Trump’s awareness of Epstein’s actions, while Republicans have criticized the release as partisan.
The messages are part of an expanding compilation obtained by House Democrats as they continue to investigate Epstein’s network and its political connections.
