As the bitter public fallout between Donald Trump and Elon Musk rattles Washington and Wall Street, conspiracy theorists on the far right are insisting it’s all staged. According to WIRED, prominent QAnon influencers and MAGA-aligned accounts are calling the feud a “psyop,” a “boomerang,” or “5D chess” meant to trick Democrats and distract the public.
Musk escalated the conflict by posting on X that Trump is “in the Epstein files,” leading QAnon personalities like Liz Crokin and MJ Truth to claim the evidence is fake and part of a strategic misinformation campaign. One anonymous X account called the feud “kayfabe,” a wrestling term for scripted conflict.
Despite the fallout wiping out over $150 billion in Tesla’s market value and forcing Silicon Valley to pick sides, figures like Alex Jones and Jack Posobiec downplayed the rift. “Only anons understand why … it’s KAYFAB on a MAGAnamonous level,” wrote MJ Truth.
While conspiracy influencers struggle to reconcile the public spat, the broader far-right online community appears divided and confused.
