Washington, DC — Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton testified Thursday that she does not recall ever meeting Jeffrey Epstein and has no new information about his criminal activities, as she appeared under subpoena before the House Oversight Committee.

In her opening statement, Clinton said she was unaware of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s crimes and had “nothing to add” beyond prior sworn declarations. She stated she never flew on Epstein’s plane or visited his properties. Clinton also accused Republicans of using the deposition to “distract attention from President Trump’s actions,” calling the inquiry a political exercise.

Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) said Republicans plan to question Clinton about Epstein’s finances, possible foreign connections, and his ties to the Clinton Foundation. Comer acknowledged that no one is accusing the Clintons of wrongdoing.

The closed-door deposition, held near the Clintons’ home, follows months of negotiations and a bipartisan vote to hold them in contempt before they agreed to testify. Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to appear Friday.

President Trump has previously directed the Justice Department to review Epstein’s connections to prominent figures.
