MAINE — Tucker Carlson unveiled a 10-point political manifesto Wednesday that could serve as the foundation for a third-party movement challenging both the Republican establishment and President Donald Trump.
The former Fox News host stopped short of announcing a party or 2028 presidential campaign. He described the platform as a shared vision for “whatever comes next,” weeks after saying he intended to help build an alternative to the two major parties. Carlson recently hosted dissident MAGA figures at his Maine home, where some reportedly encouraged him to run for president.
Carlson’s 10 principles were:
- Fair: Laws should apply equally to presidents, federal agents and wealthy elites. He cited Jeffrey Epstein as a symbol of an insulated ruling class.
- Sovereign: The United States should reject foreign influence, corporate control and predatory debt. Carlson accused Israel of pushing America into war with Iran.
- Productive: The country should rebuild manufacturing, farming and skilled trades instead of relying on finance, speculation, surveillance and weapons production.
- Beautiful: Carlson condemned brutalist architecture, graffiti, public drug use and urban decay, alleging that powerful planners deliberately degraded American communities.
- Healthy: He embraced Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s food agenda, promoted sobriety and criticized widespread reliance on Xanax, Adderall and antidepressants.
- Honest: Government officials should face punishment for deceiving the public, while most classified records concerning events such as the Kennedy assassination and September 11 should be released.
- Optimistic: Carlson presented marriage and parenthood as foundations for long-term social stability, arguing that aging and childless elites disregard future generations.
- Wise: Schools should emphasize practical knowledge and what Carlson called permanent truths about human nature, including differences between men and women.
- Decent: The United States should apologize and provide restitution for civilian deaths, reverse Trump’s “Department of War” name change and stop supporting allies Carlson accuses of genocide.
- United: Carlson proposed halting immigration while the effects of artificial intelligence become clearer, ending public benefits for undocumented immigrants and requiring English on federal documents and ballots.
The manifesto combines economic populism, noninterventionist foreign policy, social conservatism and hard-line immigration restrictions. Carlson’s breakaway faction includes former Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Rep. Thomas Massie and former Trump counterterrorism official Joe Kent. Its members accuse Trump of abandoning “America First” through the Iran war, his handling of the Epstein files and continued support for Israel. The White House dismissed the group as politically irrelevant, while Trump remains the dominant figure within the Republican Party.
