President Biden’s reelection campaign has launched a $14 million ad campaign for May, aimed at reaching Black, Latino, and Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) voters. The campaign will focus on states deemed crucial for victory, including the Midwest’s “Blue Wall,” the Sunbelt, and the Southwest. The ads will be aired during sports programming, commercials for shows like ABC’s “Abbott Elementary,” and on digital platforms.

The campaign plans to open more than 500 staff and 200 offices in these states by the end of May, and increase surrogate travel and outreach to small businesses. In contrast to Trump’s lagging fundraising, Biden’s campaign boasts $192 million in cash on hand. Communications director Michael Tyler stated, “We have historic cash on hand that literally trumps our opponents.”

The campaign criticized Trump for his “anemic and insufficient” paid media strategy and his ongoing legal issues. The $14 million ad buy is an addition to the $30 million, six-week ad buy from March.

Despite recent polls showing Trump leading Biden in seven battleground states, the campaign remains confident, stating it doesn’t put stock into any one poll this far from Election Day. Principal deputy campaign manager Quentin Fulks expressed confidence in their current position, with six months remaining until Election Day.
