President Biden’s campaign announced a $50 million ad blitz in battleground states, aiming to reassure voters after a weak debate performance. Additionally, $17 million will be invested in voter outreach over the next two months, with Biden, Vice President Harris, First Lady Jill Biden, and First Gentleman Doug Emhoff visiting key states in July.
The ads will address crucial issues like abortion and the economy, portraying Trump as a threat to democracy. They will air during popular programs such as the 2024 Olympics and the Republican National Convention. The campaign emphasized the importance of battleground voters, stating, “This will be a close race, decided by battleground voters who require consistent time, outreach, and attention.”
Biden’s reelection campaign reported its best fundraising month in June, raising $127 million. Notably, $38 million was raised following the first debate. Biden will be interviewed by ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Friday and will also speak at a campaign event in Madison, Wisconsin.
Despite some Democratic lawmakers calling for Biden to drop out, the party establishment remains supportive. Key figures, including Gov. Tony Evers and Rep. Mark Pocan, are expected to attend the event. Biden aims to win six critical states—Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin—where Trump currently leads by nearly 14 points nationally.
