President Joe Biden’s campaign organized what it claims to be “the most successful political fundraiser in American history” at Radio City Music Hall, featuring former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton. The event, which saw a turnout of 5,000 attendees, managed to raise $25 million, even before Biden, Obama, and Clinton took the stage.

Jeffrey Katzenberg, Biden-Harris 2024 campaign co-chair, emphasized the event’s success as a demonstration of strong support for Biden and Vice President Harris, highlighting the campaign’s fundraising capabilities. The fundraiser, which included an armchair conversation moderated by Stephen Colbert, sold tickets ranging from $225 to $500,000. The highest-priced tickets offered a photo opportunity with the current and former presidents.

This fundraising achievement is part of a broader trend of the Biden-Harris campaign significantly outperforming the Trump campaign in terms of fundraising. In February, Team Biden-Harris raised $53 million, dwarfing the $20 million raised by the Trump campaign. Currently, Biden’s campaign boasts $155 million in cash on hand, compared to Trump’s $42 million.

The Biden campaign has also pointed out that the Trump campaign is facing challenges in raising funds, with much of its efforts directed towards covering legal expenses rather than campaign financing.

In response to the event’s success, a Trump campaign spokesperson criticized Biden’s reliance on former presidents for campaign momentum, questioning Biden’s capability without their support.
