Spokane, Washington — U.S. Marshals arrested a fugitive probation violator Friday evening after locating him hiding beneath a child’s bed in a residential neighborhood on Spokane’s South Hill, ending a targeted manhunt tied to prior firearm and assault charges.
According to the U.S. Marshals Service, members of the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force took Keantray Davon Bryant-Muellner into custody around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 16. He was wanted on a Washington State Department of Corrections Secretary’s Arrest Warrant for violating probation stemming from an April 2024 arrest. That earlier case included first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm and fourth-degree assault.
Task force members surrounded a home on the 3000 block of South Regal Street after developing information that Bryant-Muellner was inside. Officers removed a sliding glass door to enter the residence, where two uninvolved adults were safely escorted out. Bryant-Muellner was then discovered hiding under a child’s bed and surrendered without incident.
During the arrest, law enforcement recovered a handgun and multiple high-capacity magazines, which were taken into evidence. Authorities said the suspect was immediately transported into custody while the investigation continued.
U.S. Marshal Craig Thayer said the arrest reflects ongoing efforts to address gun violence in the Spokane area, noting that removing firearms from individuals prohibited from possessing them remains a public safety priority. Bryant-Muellner remains in custody as evidence is processed and additional proceedings move forward.
