San Antonio, Texas – Democratic congressional candidate Maureen Galindo has lost access to ActBlue fundraising services after a series of antisemitic comments triggered widespread condemnation from Democratic leaders and Jewish lawmakers.
Galindo, who is running in a May 26 Democratic runoff in Texas’s 35th Congressional District, recently posted on social media that she wanted to turn a Texas ICE detention center into a “prison for American Zionists.” She also made inflammatory comments linking Zionists to pedophilia and accused her opponent, Johnny Garcia, of being funded by “Zionist terrorism.”
ActBlue is no longer processing donations for Galindo’s campaign following the controversy. Multiple Democratic officials, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chair Suzan DelBene, called her rhetoric “vile” and disqualifying.
Reps. Jared Moskowitz and Josh Gottheimer said they would repeatedly push expulsion votes if Galindo were elected to Congress. Texas Democrat James Talarico also publicly refused to campaign alongside her.
Galindo’s campaign has additionally faced scrutiny over financial support from Lead Left PAC, a political group reportedly linked to Republican-aligned fundraising efforts targeting Democratic primaries.
