Israeli military says about 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants found in Israel as border is secured

Israel has regained authority over the Gaza border and is installing mines in areas where the barrier was breached by Hamas militants.

The latest aerial assaults from Israel were in response to Hamas’ threats to execute an Israeli hostage for each Palestinian residence bombed without prior notice.

Reports indicate that the Hamas offensive has resulted in approximately 900 Israeli casualties, along with at least 2,600 injuries and multiple captives.

About 1,500 bodies of Hamas militants were found in Israeli territory, military officials have said.
