A recent poll by the University of Georgia indicates a close race in Georgia, with former President Trump receiving 45 percent support and President Biden closely trailing at 44 percent.

President Biden’s backing among Black voters in Georgia has decreased to 78 percent, with Trump garnering 12 percent support from the same demographic.

Among independent voters, 30 percent favor Biden, with 20 percent remaining undecided. The survey sampled 1,002 likely voters in the upcoming general election.

This tight contest comes after Biden’s slim margin victory in 2020, the first win for a Democratic presidential candidate in Georgia since 1992.
