Donald Trump has ordered Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to resume workplace raids targeting undocumented migrants at farms, hotels, and restaurants, after briefly suspending operations over the weekend. The policy shift comes as the administration pushes for 3,000 arrests per day.

Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin said the raids are necessary to protect public safety and economic stability. “There will be no safe spaces for industries who harbor violent criminals,” she said.

Trump had paused the raids following complaints from farmers and hospitality businesses who said they were losing hard-to-replace workers. But by Tuesday, he reversed course, saying: “We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA.”

He also blamed Joe Biden for immigration issues, claiming cities were overrun due to poor border policies. Trump specifically pointed to “inner cities” and vowed to continue raids in Democratic-led areas.

The resumed operations follow controversial ICE raids in Los Angeles that triggered major protests.
